Understand what you want

Many of us aspire to do many great things in our life, but actually end up not doing them. Our Acharya Swami ShantanandaJi recently shared a tip from Bhagavatam that in Kali Yuga, even wanting and thinking to do something good is considered as a merit, which is a great solace to all of us sailing in this boat :)

Q: Why does this happen?
A: We frequently forget what is really important to us, and dear to us.
That sounds a bit ridiculous, doesn't it? But we humans are quite capable of it.
Q: How do we forget something important?
A: We get distracted with something else; something else that catches our mind or sense organs!

Now, if we completely forgot about our aspiration, may be it is not a serious issue. But most often, after a few months, out of nowhere, we recall what we started out wishing for and stopped the pursuit!! That is when you feel very unhappy with yourself. If this happens quite a few times, you have to beware, wake up, analyze and reassert why that aspiration is important to you, and do everything you can about it.

This Life is a game; when we are born we forget who we truly are and what makes us happy, and our life goal is then to realize that. So if there is a want in you that resurfaces time and again, it is a clue that you might be born many times to realize that, and we better remember to get it done as soon as we can in this chance.
